Learners who would like to take the MATSEC, Advanced Matriculation (AM), Biology examination in May 2026, but have no access to laboratory facilities.

Applicants who are studying or have studied Biology at Advanced level.

This course will help learners to:

• design and plan biological investigations;
• apply appropriate laboratory techniques safely and effectively to collect reliable biological data;
• analyse and interpret experimental results, identifying patterns, sources of error and validity of conclusions;
• demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• The Biology practicals will be held on Tuesdays from 17:00 till 20:00 or from 17:00 till 19:00. Commencement date will be Tuesday 6 January. 
• Five (5) sessions of three (3) hours each, and five (5) sessions of two (2) hours each.
• This practical course will help learners gain the necessary experience to ace Paper IV. The sessions will consist of some theoretical sessions and others will consist of experimental design investigations with feedback from experienced lecturers. 
• A certificate of participation will be awarded to learners who successfully complete the course.
