1. If a conference participant requires a VISA to visit Malta, one is requested to access the information from the Central Visa Unit where one can find all the information available together with the application forms needed.

4. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, conference participants are requested to check the travel regulations listed on the Latest Covid-19 updates webpage on the Visit Malta website before making any travel arrangements to Malta. Conference participants are urged to think early, as it will not be possible to obtain a Visa at short notice. At least a month is required to obtain a Visa.
5. The Conference Organising team provides a letter of invitation to the attendees that require it in order to attend the event. This letter will clearly state the date of the event, the organiser’s details, including contact information, and confirmation of the attendee’s registration to attend the event at the event’s dates and location. Before an attendee submits via email a request for the letter of invitation, one must make sure to have registered to attend the event and completed the payment. Requests without proof of payment cannot be accommodated. It is up to the attendee to check whether one requires a VISA to travel to the event’s host country.

1. Insurance
Participants are reminded to take out personal insurance for themselves and accompanying persons, including insurance of personal effects.
2. Airport Transfers
There is a Taxi Stand at the airport. Taxi service from the Airport is available 24 hours a day to any destination in Malta, including Valletta. Fixed rates are applicable and pre-paid tickets can be purchased from the ticket booth at Arrivals. More rates and details.
3. Climate and Clothing
The weather in Malta during September is mostly hot and humid, however, light jackets are recommended for the air conditioned environments of the conference venue.
4. Telecommunications
Epic, Go and Melita provide the latest generation mobile telephony services.
5. Currency
The unit of currency in Malta is the Euro.
6. Banks
There are Banks / ATMs in all towns and villages with additional "Bureaux de Change" in Sliema, St Julians and Valletta. Bank of Valletta and HSBC banking hours are as follows:

7. Electricity
Electricity supply is 220/240 volts, single phase, 50 cycle. The square fitting standard three-pin plugs and sockets are used.

Restaurants in Malta offer a wide choice of cuisine ranging from the local to Continental, Indian, Mexican, Chinese. Maltese food is heavily influenced by the Italian and Italian restaurants abound on the islands. Dinner at local restaurants can cost from EUR 14 to EUR 45 per head depending on the category of restaurant. Snack bars and cafes are cheaper. One can find a variety of restaurants according to one’s own budget.

Adult cinema tickets cost €9.50.
Sport
Malta offers facilities for practically all kinds of sports. Many of the leading hotels in Malta have modern health and fitness facilities.
11. Health
Delegates should ensure that they are covered by adequate Medical Insurance. Healthcare in Malta is of a high level conforming to European standards. Mater Dei Hospital is the state hospital. There are also private hospitals.
12. Language
Malta has two official Languages: Maltese and English. English is widely spoken in Malta and will be the language of the Conference.

Stamps may be bought from most Newsagents/Stationers. Postal rates for an ordinary letter/postcard are as follows:

14. Shopping
Shops are usually open from 09:00 to 13:00 and 16:00 to 19:00. However, many are closed on Saturday afternoon whilst one can shop in the Shopping Malls all day and on Sundays. Malta is renowned for its Lace, Mdina Glass and reasonably priced gold and silver items. Local honey and wine have been famous since antiquity.
