A Workers’ Health & Safety Representative (WHSR) is a person, elected, chosen or designated, as prescribed in regulations, to represent workers on all matters relating to the promotion and protection of their occupational health or safety. Their input is a significant contribution and an integral component of maintaining a positive relationship between the employer and his employees, to ensure healthy and safety in their workplaces. The WHSRs will liaise with the Health and Safety Officer in all matters that regards occupational Health and Safety. Specific training courses for employees designated with the role of WHSRs are given by the Occupational Health & Safety Authority Malta.
