Digital Art, Introduction to (K018) is an Enrichment Programme Unit for students who are interested in effectively using art and design principles to create digital works and for those who are interested in graphic design or digital media in general.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this unit, students should be able to:
- research a particular topic verbally and visually
- demonstrate competency in basic digital manipulation
- acquire a sound knowledge of visual communication, art and design principles and formal art elements
- appreciate digital works of art.

Further details
Students enrolling to this EPU will be given an official introduction of the unit, will be instructed on artistic photography and editing, poster design and digital manipulation of an artwork. Students will be given weekly tasks with further basic explorations beyond class.
Additional benefits
May be used part of an SOK project provided that the students seek the approval of the SOK Coordinator and attend all the sessions - an SOK project requires a minimum of 20 hours.
This unit may be also beneficial to any art student who would like to earn basic knowledge to this discipline to be able to present a new medium in their Coursework Portfolio.
Conditions
- A minimum and a maximum number of students is required to run this unit.
- Student registration is on a first come first served basis.
- Students must get their own personal laptop or device to class each time.
