FAQ for Music

It is an art form whose medium is sound, and as such, it must be both emotionally appreciated and intellectually understood.
This course offers a wide spectrum of music study which is indispensable for a solid foundation in this subject. You may also read the MATSEC syllabus, if you wish more information.
  • Bachelor of Music (Honours): It integrates the development of practical skills with theoretical and historical musical knowledge whilst giving students the opportunity to immerse themselves in every aspect of music. The programme offers a high standard of academic, compositional and instrumental/vocal tuition in a uniquely broad range of styles. The programme also includes a placement that should help students experience work in the cultural sector, particularly in the music business.
  • Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music Studies: The B.A. and B.A.(Honours) differ from each other mainly in that the former is spread equally over two areas of study, whereas the latter focuses on a single area, with a secondary area as subsidiary. The duration of the degree courses is three years.
You will have 5 hours lectures, 1 hour tutorial and 1 hours practical session on a weekly basis.
