JC Rowing Club (W001) is an Enrichment Programme Unit for students who would like to keep fit and participate in sport events

 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this unit, students should be able to:

  • set up the Concept 2 rowing machine for different events
  • set up and understand the concept of drag factor
  • know how to care and maintain the rowing machine
  • demonstrate knowledge and improvement in their training sessions
  • compete in at least one rowing event.

Further details

Students registering for this club will have an introductory session to the concept, 15 hours of training sessions, a session about nutrition and three hours worth of competitions.

 

Additional benefits

May be used part of an SOK project provided that the students attend and participate during all sessions. 


Conditions

  • Registration is on a first come first served basis.
  • Students will be expected to :
  • respect the JC Code of Behaviour at all times
  • be punctual, respectful and to observe norms and regulations.
  • dress appropriately in sports wear
  • fill in all documentation as required
  • get a towel, drink and change of clothes.
