Instructions for applicants presenting either local or both local and overseas qualifications


Privacy statement

In this section, you will need to confirm that you have read and agreed to the University of Malta privacy policy before proceeding with your online application.

Personal details

In this section of the application form, you will be asked to provide further personal information in addition to that already supplied.

  • Maltese Identity Card Number – please specify your Maltese ID number.
  • Nationality – please choose your primary nationality. If you have dual nationality, you are required to fill in the '2nd Nationality (if dual)' field, otherwise please select the 'not applicable' option.
  • Country / Countries of residence – please list the countries of residence for the last 4 years, selecting the 'not applicable' option where appropriate.
  • Email address – The Junior College will need your personal email address to send you any correspondence about the online application.


Medical condition / disability

Please let us know if you have any particular requirements due to a medical condition or disability. This information will be used to enable us to provide you with appropriate help and services to facilitate your studies at the Junior College.

If the 'Yes' option is selected, you will need to submit certification by a specialist/s to support your case.

Secondary Education Certificates (SEC)

The qualifications required for admission to the Junior College are:

  • Six (6) passes in the Secondary Education Certification (SEC) Examination or, when applicable, their equivalent at Grade 5/C or better. The subjects must include one of the following subjects: English Language, Maltese or Mathematics.

Please note that the only recognised Examining Board for Maltese is the MATSEC Board.

Please indicate the subject/s for which you intend to apply for a September resit or for a revision of paper.

Other academic qualifications

Please list any other SEC or ‘O’ Level qualifications that are not part of your SEC Certificate, but are relevant to your application. In this section, please list also any subjects not mentioned in the SEC section for which you are still awaiting results.

Other qualifications

Please list all other qualifications in your possession that are relevant to your application e.g. Cambridge Diploma in ICT, overseas music qualifications etc. You are also required to list any of these qualifications for which you are still awaiting results.

Applicant's academic background

Please indicate whether you have ever attended the Junior College. If the 'Yes' option is selected, please indicate the outcome and date of admission.

Last school attended

You are requested to indicate the last school that you have attended. You can choose from a list of all state, private and church schools in Malta and Gozo.

Information for statistical purposes 

Parents' level of education is for statistical purposes only.

 

Contact details in case of emergency

It is in your interest to provide the Junior College with your parent/guardian contact details in case of emergency, should the need arise.

Statement of integrity

By ticking the box in this section, you are confirming that the information you have given in this online application is correct and complete at the time of application.

Application fee

A non-refundable application fee of €23.30 is to be paid online for admission to the Junior College.

You may pay the application fee via a secure payment facility. Once you click the 'Pay to Submit Application' button which is found at the bottom of the page, you will be prompted to input the card holder details which include card number, card expiry date, CVV number (if paying using VISA) and the card holder's name. Please note that your application will not be processed until payment has been made.

If you do not have your payment card at hand, by pressing the 'Save and continue later' button you have the facility to save the data you have entered so far and to continue filling the form after paying the relevant fee.
