Go through this important information carefully, before you apply.


A link to apply online will be available on the JC website in July 2023.

Your application will be processed via a secure electronic process. This method of online application is recommended since it is the quickest and most efficient way to apply for admission.

It is important that you take a few minutes to read the instructions below before filling in the application. If you are not sure how to complete any section/s of the form, you can click on the info icon  in each application section and the relevant instructions will be displayed. If you have any further queries, you may find the contact details of our support staff at the top of each page.

When filling in your online application form, please double-check the accuracy of the information that you enter in order to ensure that your data is accurate. If your application is not completed correctly or missing any details, there may be additional fees and delays in processing your application.

 

Main applications are accepted online between 24 July and 10 August 2023 till 14:00.

Late applications are accepted online between 17 August and 25 August 2023 till 14:00.

Very late applications are accepted online between 04 September and 20 October 2023 till 14:00.

Important notes

  • Access the online application form (link will be available in July 2023).
  • Students are to fill in the ‘Confirmation to Restart’ form online. Instructions related to this application will be sent with the ‘End-of-Year Academic Report’. Forms may be downloaded in due time. They are to be duly filled in and handed to SSO, Room B104 by the dates indicated.
  • An application fee is to be paid once at the beginning of each study programme. All application fees are non-refundable. 
Once accepted as a Junior College student
  • Applicants who satisfy the entry requirements for admission to the Junior College will receive a letter of acceptance. In order to confirm their intention of attending the College, the applicant will be asked to deposit EUR 24 as caution money by credit card, before being registered as a Junior College student. 
  • Applicants who decide to withdraw their application, are required to fill in a Withdrawal Form available on the Junior College website and to forward the completed form, to the SSO by the end of October.
Caution money
  • The caution money is intended to cover all or part of the costs in the case that a student causes any damage or loss to equipment or property intentionally or accidentally, or if the student fails to return the student card at the end of the study programme or upon withdrawal.
  • The caution money will be refunded after the student completes the full study programme at the College, however it will be forfeited in case of the above.
Exemption from studying subjects
  • Students, who are in possession of a pass in any subject/s at MATSEC level, are eligible to be exempted from studying the subject/s during their time at the College. They are to fill in the Request to be exempted from studying subject/s form  which is available on the Junior College website.
  • The form must be presented at the SSO, together with the original result slip/certificate and its photocopy. An administration fee of EUR 12.00 is applicable.
  • Students will not be allowed to choose another subject instead.
Applicants holding Local Qualifications – applicants who sat for their SEC examinations from May 2011 to date, may apply by logging in the Junior College website when applications are open. If you have any difficulty, please do not hesitate to contact the Administration Office Junior College on telephone number +356 2590 7150 between 08:30 and 12:30.

  • Apply from the comfort and privacy of your home.
  • Form fields validation allows less risk of filling details incorrectly.
  • Available 24 hours daily for your convenience.
  • Valid email address – during the process, you will be asked for a valid email address. It is of the utmost importance that you type the email address correctly, since it will be used by the Administration Office to inform you about the status of your application.
  • Login details – during the process, you will be prompted to create your application login details. It is important that you take note of these details since they will be needed for certain actions, such as resuming a saved application or viewing the status of your application. Applicants who sat for their SEC examinations from May 2011 to date will be provided with a username and a password printed on their results transcript.

If you have started an application and do not have the required information at hand, you have the option to save the inputted details on each page and continue your application later.

Login page

  • Login button: Your username is your Maltese ID number (without any brackets, spaces and zero digits preceding the number) and your password can be found at the bottom of the results transcript you have received from MATSEC.

Username and password

  •  'Forgot Password' Link: The 'Forgot your Password' facility can only be used once you have provided us with your personal email address. After you answer the personal questions, your reset password will be sent to the email address you have indicated.

Change password
You will need to change your password, when prompted by the system. Your new password should have a minimum of 5 characters and should not exceed 12 characters.

Very important: start using your new password and keep it confidential.

Further online application instructions

  • If you are presenting either local qualifications or both local and overseas qualifications, you can continue reading the instructions related to your application.
  • If you are presenting both local and overseas qualifications as part of your entry requirements, after you submit your application, you will be contacted by the Junior College Administration Office to present the original result slips/certificates of your qualifications.
International students, who are in possession of overseas qualifications only, are kindly asked to contact the University of Malta International Student Admissions.
  • Adult learners are students who are 23 years old or will turn 23 by the time they finish a study programme at Junior College. Adult learners are exempted from presenting three passes in SEC Examination in English Language, Maltese and Mathematics.
  • Ideally the adult learner is in possession of a SEC Level pass in English or a Secure English Language Test (SELT) result, allowing the learner to follow the course with profit.
  • The adult learner should be aware that, for certain UM courses, special course requirements may apply.
