Life Skills + (C007) is an Enrichment Programme Unit for students who would like to learn about and improve their interpersonal skills/people skills which are much needed for the 21st century.

Life Skills + is also for students interested in the acquisition of skills (e.g. public speaking, communication, listening, creativity/problem solving, critical thinking etc.) which can be transferred to various areas of current and future studies e.g. sociology, social studies, communications, theatre, psychology etc and also transferred to practical LIFE situations.  This unit will therefore have long term benefits for students 

 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this unit, students should be able to:

  • learn about/apply listening & communication skills, assertiveness and self-management skills in order to communicate more affectively 
  • learn about and enrich presentation/public speaking and debating skills through facilitated interactive activities 
  • improve teamwork, creativity, problem solving and critical thinking skills through practice activities/exercise

All skills taught will be based on learning and interactive activities such as icebreaking sessions, worksheets, critical discussion, presentation, games, and so on held in a group setting.

The students are also expected to: 

  • register online on a first come first served basis
  • respect the JC Code of Behaviour at all times
  • be punctual, respectful and to observe norms and regulations of the school
  • dress appropriately
  • participate and engage in the sessions, interact with their peers and do the required activities to reap the benefits of these life skills sessions

 

Registration/Participation fees 

No fees with Junior College however there is a small fee with JAYE Malta to cover training, ESP Exam and other materials.
